Concrete built for Temple
Local planning starts with the individual property.
Temple's mix of established neighborhoods, fast-growing residential areas, medical and business campuses, and industrial activity produces both residential and commercial concrete needs. Projects range from straightforward patio extensions to access-sensitive replacement work near active facilities.
Understanding the setting
In older Temple neighborhoods, existing driveways and walks may reflect decades of additions, utility work, roots, and changing drainage. A replacement plan should identify which conditions are still active and which are simply evidence of past work.
Commercial and multifamily locations need a clear sequence. Pedestrian routes, tenant access, deliveries, parking, and cure time all affect when an area can be removed and when new concrete can return to service. Those constraints belong in the scope, not as last-minute adjustments.
Residential concrete for everyday use
Residential growth also creates demand for driveways, patio expansions, shed slabs, and side-yard walks. On recently completed homes, we coordinate new elevations with builder concrete, fences, irrigation, and final yard grading.
Whether the project is highly visible from the street or tucked behind the home, the same fundamentals matter: dimensions that fit the use, stable preparation, forms set to the right elevations, a reinforcement approach suited to the scope, and a finish appropriate for traffic and weather. We discuss decorative choices after the practical requirements are understood.
Drainage, soil, and Central Texas weather
Large roofs and paved areas can concentrate runoff. We pay attention to downspouts, valley discharge, parking-lot flow, and low transitions. The concrete surface must shed water, while surrounding grades need a receiving path that does not erode the slab edge.
The region's soils and weather vary from lot to lot. Expansive soil can change volume with moisture, while filled or disturbed areas may settle if they were not compacted well. Concrete cannot guarantee that the ground below will never move. Our role is to identify visible concerns, prepare the defined work area carefully, and recommend specialist input when a condition falls outside ordinary flatwork.

From estimate to completion
The first conversation should establish the location, project purpose, approximate size, access, existing surface, and preferred timing. Photos help us understand the broad setting, but some scopes require an on-site review. If drawings, neighborhood requirements, permits, engineering, or another trade affect the concrete, those items should be raised before the work is scheduled.
Once the scope is clear, preparation and placement can be organized around the site. Removal, excavation, base work, forms, reinforcement, concrete access, finishing, control joints, cleanup, and initial protection each need room in the plan. Weather can affect the schedule, and newly placed concrete must be kept out of service while it develops strength.
